5. "The Apprentice Module" — One Week Immersive Program
A five-day intensive letterpress apprenticeship designed for serious learners—design students, career-changers, and aspiring printers seeking hands-on mastery. Each day builds progressively: from press mechanics and hand-setting fundamentals, through ink mixing and single-color printing, to multi-color techniques, embossing, and paper selection. Day five culminates in an independent project where you design and print your own collection—a 5-card set or invitation suite you'll take home. Three to four hours daily, Monday through Friday (with an optional sixth day covering studio etiquette, vendor sourcing, pricing strategies, and portfolio review). Small group setting ensures personalized feedback and access to our full range of equipment and cotton-paper stocks. By week's end, you'll understand letterpress from history and mechanics to finishing techniques, with a portfolio piece that demonstrates your new skills.
